Vintage Bottle Opener, Solid Brass, Ornate, Thailand, Hand Held
$19.40
A very detailed solid brass bottle opener. I don't know enough about the culture there the pointy hat could be royalty, or Thai dancers or possibly Buddha himself. Helping you get the cap off of your bottle. I think this would make a great gift for that bartender friend that religiously carries a bottle opener in their back pocket. The detail on it is remarkable. I has some markings but I was unable to make out what it says exactly and it didn't come up in any of my searches.
They might also be Thepphanom. Thepphanom are celestial beings or mythological angels in Thai Buddhism. They are often depicted as a pair, a brother and a sister, kneeling on both knees with hands at the wai position, praying or offering respect. The Thepanom first came to earth when Buddha reached enlightenment.
It measures a bit over 5.5 inches in length and at its widest point is a bit over 1 inch wide and is somewhat thin at about 1/8 of an inch thick. When I say thin I do not imply that it would easily bend because that is not the case. It is quite substantial.
Previously owned and in excellent vintage condition, aside from some normal tarnish.
Thanks so much for looking! If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out to me! I usually respond quickly.
