Vintage Imperial Signal Corps 2 Blade Folding Pocket Knife with Pearl Handle
$34.00
This nice knife has 2 sharp blades. It has a synthetic pearly plastic handles on both sides. It has a bail on one end, could be easily connected to your keys. The tang stamp on both blades reads Imperial Prov. RI USA. There is a gold with red and white enamel Signal Corps emblem attached on one side in the center.
The U.S. Army Signal Corps, established in 1860, is a branch responsible for creating and managing communications and information systems for the command and control of the Army, evolving from semaphore systems to modern technologies like radio, radar, and cybersecurity.
I believe this knife to be circa 1950's so I would just guess that maybe was owned by someone in WW2. It is a stretch but very possible. I bought another knife from this same location and it is from the 1950's.
The knife when folded up measures 2.25 inches long and 3/4 of an inch wide. Each blade measures 1.75 inches long. When both knives are completely extended the entire thing measures 5.5 inches long.
Previously owned and in very good vintage condition. There are a few dark spots on the blade and some minor surface scratches from normal wear and age. I believe the blades are the original edge. Still very sharp. Has good snap. Please examine all of the photos and decide for yourself. Please keep in mind that these photos are at a high resolution and the spots are more prominent,
Thanks so much for looking! If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out to me! I usually respond quickly.
